Graffiti can be unpredictable which can make the art more appealing when you come a crossed it. With this there is a big pull between the artists and the government when it comes to graffiti in the public’s eye. Where the artists sees it as art and the government sees it as vandalism. Graffiti has become a big staple in the urban areas and have come to make a big development around the world. Most of the time when you see graffiti the artist is trying to dress up as part of the city that might be dull and wants to give it a new shine that was not there before. Most of the time we see graffiti on empty concrete spaces of buildings, in bright, bold colors and strong words are written. Big named graffiti artists are like Banksy and Shepard Fairey, these artists are the ones who started out painting across the world and ending their art eventually landing them in Galleries and Museums.

But there has been a growing debate whether graffiti art should be considered to be seen as wall art or not. And while graffiti is seen to be very expressive and unique and that skillful pieces have been produced this way. Painters and illustrators use most of the same materials but in the art world should graffiti even be considered art under the same context. When we look at the meaning of graffiti in books, when you read about it, it falls under that category of vandalism. It has been a very tough battle for the graffiti artists they are more categories under the contemporary art umbrella. With what we have learned so far is that graffiti is seen as the underdog of the contemporary art world as we are still trying to figure out what category is would be placed in. determining weather to call it destroying property like vandalism or regular standards art.

Question: Why would Graffiti seen as a bad thing when most of our art is created in this way. Whether we start with word description to images a lot of this art can be transported into different ideas. Like a brain inspire moment.
